Burlington Aggregates Ltd is an amalgamation of two successful family businesses (Neil Price Construction Services and the aggregates division of Burlington Slate Ltd). The business brings together the aggregate processing and logistics expertise of NPCS and the sand, limestone, and slate quarries of Burlington Slate Ltd, to enable the cost effective and efficient manufacture and distribution of construction and decorative aggregates both locally and nationally.
As a consequence of the merger the company will be able to offer local construction companies access to an unrivalled portfolio of aggregates through its distribution hubs at Goldmire in Barrow-in-Furness, Kirkby, and Elterwater. Burlington Aggregates Ltd holds the ‘South Lakes area’ only active quarries for sand at Roose, and slate aggregates at Kirkby and Elterwater, as well as it’s two limestone quarries at Goldmire and Baycliff (Ulverston).
In addition, Burlington Aggregates Limited will provide a range of products and services that include the processing and sale of recycled aggregate, the manufacture of concrete blocks and ready mix concrete, combined with its specialist plant/ equipment and transport fleet that are available for hire.
Through the creation of this forward thinking business, the outstanding quality of the natural resources in South Cumbria can be promoted to a wider marketplace and at the same time, will help to sustain nearly 200 jobs in the region.
